This not due to some sort of overly optimistic vibes-based calculation. I’m certain that they can based on some analysis Phil and I have worked on over the last few matchdays of Leagues Cup. The question is whether Verde do by sticking to the buy-in that has shown them to be formidable in the last two matches (and, arguably, various portions of five competitive matches since returning from midseason break).
Since the Seattle win, I’ve believed it could be possible, then doubted, and then swung back to believing, and that’s backed by data on top of eyeballing.
If you don’t believe they can topple the titans of Concacaf, let me try to convince you.
