Speaking before Austin media on Tuesday, Damian Las appeared content with his pending move to USL Championship side Louisville City FC.
He characterized the move — coupled with signing a three-year guaranteed contract with an option year that could keep him Verde until 2027 — as one that gets him on the next steps in his journey.
“I'm very grateful that Austin gave me the opportunity to be able to sign a new contract here,” Las said. “It's a long-term project for me. Going to Louisville is something that helps me bridge the gap between MLS Next Pro and the MLS. I think I had a good year last year, but now it's gonna be able to prove this year that I'm ready to play men's football at a higher level.”

The biggest immediate concern for Las was potential competition for the starting spot at Louisville with its No. 1 from last year, Oliver Semmle. But that obstacle cleared for the best reason possible on Wednesday.
