While it appears to be another day without a new player announcement for Austin FC, Friday did bring us the full 2024 preseason slate of matches, adding to the trio of matches already set in Indio, Calif., which we knew about from last month’s Coachella Valley Invitational announcement.
The full schedule features seven games, including a pair of January matches at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla. (home of the Tampa Bay Rowdies), and an Austin match sandwich, with two matches on Saturdays in February serving as bread around the meaty Coachella dates. These, of course, all lead up to the season opener on Feb. 24 at Q2 Stadium against the Loons of Minnesota.
Here’s what’s on the docket:
- Tuesday, Jan. 23 vs. Philadelphia Union (St. Petersburg)
- Friday, Jan. 26 vs. FC Cincinnati (St. Petersburg)
- Saturday, Feb. 3 vs. Louisville City FC (Austin)
- Wednesday, Feb. 7 vs. Chicago Fire FC (Indio)
- Sunday, Feb. 11 vs. LA Galaxy (Indio)
- Wednesday, Feb. 14 vs. New York Red Bulls (Indio)
- Saturday, Feb. 17 vs. New York City FC (Austin)
