World Cup Daily: Matches and storylines for July 10

France advanced in 2026 World Cup action on Thursday. On Friday, it learns who it will face in Arlington as Spain faces off against Belgium.

Vive la France!

France, behind goals from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, weathered a lopsided (shots-wise) but uneasy and scoreless first half to get past Morocco 2-0. France now moves to a semifinal against the winner of Friday's Belgium-Spain match in the Southland. That match is in Arlington; some tickets are available but approaching mortgage territory and more for a single ticket.

Spain has not conceded a goal in this tournament, but after a slow start in the group stages, and throughout 85 minutes of its Round of 32 match, Belgium has exploded for a combined seven goals against Senegal and the U.S. in 125 minutes. Don't be surprised if we get a Battle of the Flanders instead of a Battle of the Pyrenees in the semifinal.
