It wasn’t the most detailed answer Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff’s ever given.
And, concerningly, it was an answer to the question that’s been swirling around Verde since a third straight away match without a single goal — and only two shots on goal total in those 270 minutes on the road: “Where do you think you’ll find the goals against Houston?”
He responded, simply, “Similar to the ways that we have in the past.”
Wolff did have complementary things to say about the Dynamo’s 4-2-1 start, good for third in the West heading into the teams’ first Copa Tejas tilt of 2024. Yet, in that answer, he wove in a narrative of a Dynamo team that’s differentiated itself from Austin in one key area.
