Myrto Uzuni is possibly on the move to Turkey. For now, the only concrete move to report on this week is a very specific amount of GAM.
A little more than a year after Myrto Uzuni was announced as an incoming Austin FC player for a club record fee, he could be an outgoing player.
Reports have the Albanian forward, who didn't quite have the dream 2025 season that fans envision when he announced at his opening press conference that he was here to break records, going to Turkish club Trabzonspor should a deal be done day — the deadline for the Turkish Süper Lig to get deals over the line.
We're in the "Tom Bogert quoting sources" phase of the announcement, per his Bluesky account this morning.
🇦🇱 Sources: Trabzonspor in talks to sign Albania int'l forward Myrto Uzuni from Austin FC.
Deadline day for Turkish Süper Lig is today. Let's see if a deal can get done.
Uzuni, 30, joined Austin for club-record deal worth around $12m last winter. Had 8g/3a in around 2,700 mins
There's also a report from Turkish journalist İsa Kethüda on his Twitter account, claiming a deal is already done: A $6.5 million offer, a $1.5 million signing bonus, and a 15% sell-on clause. It's not more fleshed out than that at the moment.
Trabzonspor is located in Trabzon, a city on the Black Sea in northeast Turkey, and it's one of the bigger clubs in the Turkish Süper Lig, currently third in the standings, behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe — so, a team that could utilize Uzuni in a title race.
For now, it's just a rumor, though a quickly moving one. The most notable move from sporting director Rodolfo Borrell this week that is official is this MLS-y gem:
Austin FC announced today that the Club has agreed to trade a 2026 international roster slot to Real Salt Lake in exchange for $235,000 in 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM). As part of the agreement, the international roster slot will return to Austin at the opening of the Secondary Transfer Window (July 13).
That's one of the most beautiful sentences ever crafted, as well as a hint that an international summer signing could necessitate getting that international slot back in July.

Is Jorge Alastuey first-team material? Is Joseph Rosales a winger? Is Facundo Torres a 10? These are three questions that Austin FC head coach Nico Estévez seeks to answer in the next 20 days.
If you like watching Austin FC take shots and score goals, this was not the game for you. But it's still preseason, and key offensive players are still missing.
Facundo Torres says he's joined a good team he wants to make better and will play whenever his coach tells him to. Yes, that ticks a lot of Boy Scout boxes.
2024's co-leader in goals had a much less productive 2025. But rather than move him to a new team, Austin FC had to use a roster mechanism allowing the club to release him.
