Hello! We've moved from Substack! Here's a quick checklist of things to do.
- Go to the sign in portal. If you're in the system, you'll be able to put in your email, get a link via email to log in, and access all the standard paywall content (if you're a subscriber).
- Go to your account. There's a bit of weirdness we're working through right now regarding levels. You're probably listed as "Just the First Team," which doesn't exist. You should either be "Standard," which is the $6 a month or $60 a year level you were on via Substack, or "Premium," a new $8 a month/$80 a year level that gives you access to a monthly roundup (with some fun bonus annotations providing perspective on the month that just transpired), plus a chance to share some feedback about past, present, and suggested future that we'll take seriously given that you're willing to pay a little more to offer it.
- If you were a Founding-level member on Substack, please email! We've been grappling about things to do for donors at this level, so we want to gather your ideas before we relaunch this as a level that honors your generosity.
- Be sure to bookmark the new site. Assuming the transition worked for you, this article should have come to your email the morning of Saturday, Jan. 25. If it did not, email us so we can rectify it.
- While we have content from the Substack ported over here, know that we're keeping the Substack up as an archive, much in the same way that The Striker is preserved as an archive. Having known the pain of losing an archive once before that was beyond my control – ProSoccerUSA and my coverage of the Anthony Precourt/Austin City Council saga – I know how important it is for fans to have articles written in the moment about past events. It would be so useful now to be able to go back to those past articles.
- Please share any articles you like on the new site on your social media channels. The impetus to move off Substack and on to Ghost is to help the Google robots recognize this site for the news source that it is. I just saw Google reward a site on Uzuni news with top placement; the site isn't locally connected AND spelled Brandon Vázquez with an S. That's shameful.
- Speaking of social media, we're Team Bluesky. Here are all the Verde All Day-related accounts you should follow:
- Have fun! This is a great soccer-loving community we have in Austin, and we're thrilled that Verde All Day and Emergency Podcast belong to it.
