With six goals and five assists in the 2023 regular season, Jader Obrian was one of the best contributors to the FC Dallas offense. It was a season in which the Toros needed pretty much every single one of those goals — with five coming in wins and draws — to edge into the playoffs.
In our review of his goals, published yesterday, we learned they were largely opportunistic, and he was relatively prolific and accurate, perhaps because he was so opportunistic, getting in as close as he could on a high percentage of the goals. For an Austin FC squad that needed more lethal finishing and game-changing goals in 2023, Obrian’s addition to the squad should be a helpful addition even if he’s only a rotational starter.
