Assessing all the upcoming Game 2s in the best-of-three MLS playoff series no one asked for: Part 2

For four of the eight series, a Game 2 will answer questions that still need to be answered.

We’re not sure why MLS determined that the 2023 playoffs needed an opening-round best-of-three series (Apple TV + Money + the chance to give 16 clubs at least one guaranteed home match), but we’re here. Yesterday, we covered the four series in which a Game 2 probably isn’t necessary (and barring weirdness, probably ends with a Game 2).

But starting Sunday, after a pair of Saturday games that might not be so compelling, the playoffs become a little more intriguing (we hope) and some of the series might produce a compelling Game 3 (we’re here, after all, and would much rather watch a Game 3 than the Noche d’Or exhibition that Miami’s staging for Messi next Friday).

So here’s a look at the four matches we’re hopeful for: the We Could Use More of This half of the bracket to counter the Please Just Let It End half we covered yesterday.
