Austin FC has a pool of seasoned MLS Next Pro players heading into the 2024 season — something it didn’t have at this time last year. Given that Austin FC still could use a few more senior players, it’s no surprise that three of them are involved with the preseason training sessions that started Saturday and are currently taking a pause thanks to the relentless icy grip of winter weather this week.
I’d suspected these three players would be involved in camp; kudos to the North End Podcast and other keen-eyed spotters who scoured social media posts and found the VerDos players in the background of photos featuring true first-team players.
The lesson here is that if you inadvertently photobomb, you might be the focus of the photo even if the photographer doesn’t think so.
